You can use our website to help teach people about the causes that you care about, and you can use our registered non-profit, tax-deductible status as extra incentive and reassurance for potential donors. Past fundraising activities have included everything from sending out letters to organizing benefit concerts.

After becoming an Omprakash Partner in April, 2008, Helping Hands—an after-school center in Cusco, Peru—has hosted volunteers from United States locations as diverse as Oregon, New York, Maine, and Maryland. Through their collective fundraising efforts in their home communities, these volunteers have directed over $12,000 to Helping Hands. After learning about Omprakash and becoming motivated to support one of our Partners, a student at Princeton University hosted a party at which she charged guests a few dollars at the door. In one night, she raised several hundred dollars—enough to enable our Tibetan Partner the Golok Sengcham Drukmo Home for Girls pay for a month’s worth of teacher salaries!

Fundraising Logistics
You can encourage donors to give directly to Omprakash by donating through Paypal or by sending a check to our U.S. mailing address (see omprakash.org/donate). Alternatively, you can collect money yourself and route it to us through either of the above options. When a donation is earmarked for one of our Partners, that Partner receives the full donation less possible bank transfer fees. We do not charge any administrative fees for processing donations. All earmarks are subject to our review, but rest assured that there has yet to be an occasion in which we choose not to honor the earmarks of our generous fundraisers and donors.
