Childline Uganda Uganda
Marc Skov Jacobsen

Hello my name is Marc Skov Jacobsen and I´m from Denmark. I am currently volunteering at Childline Uganda, in Mityana. I am going to tell you about a special project, which took place at Childline. Saturday the 7th of July, we in Childline had a program for HIV positive children, called "Today for Tomorrow". The children came to the office in the morning, some of them from a far distance. When the children all had arrived, we listened to an English reading of a Swahili book, translated into Luganda. After the reading of the Swahili book, we taught the children how to do some crafts. It was raindrops-like faces, which the children were cutting and drawing themselves. Afterwards we played a card game, with the cards I brought from Denmark. The kids really seemed to enjoy it, just as they enjoyed the last part of the day. Because now it was time to football. I brought some footballs along from Denmark, and we went out back to play. The children seemed really happy with the program, and it´s awesome to see what joy a ball can bring to these vulnerable kids. After the football, we sent the children home with some fruits in their hands and a smile on their faces.
