Support :: Our Supporters

Supporting the Omprakash Community:

There are many ways to support our Partners, Volunteers, and programs. Some corporations have offered us donations of money or services such as pro-bono web-marketing and legal advice. Other corporations have offered in-kind donations to be used by our Volunteers or passed on to our Partners. Schools, universities, and non-profit organizations contribute to our network by directing volunteers towards the opportunities we offer, and by hosting events through which members of their communities can learn about the work of our Partners and support them with funds or other resources. We always make sure to reciprocate with our supporters by offering them publicity on our website and within our network.

If you are interested in supporting us or reaching out to a potential supporter, please contact info@omprakash.org.

Corporate Supporters

Flip Video
We are proud to have been selected as a participating partner in the Flip Video Spotlight Program. We receive a 50% discount on Flip Ultra standard definition camcorders, and we plan to use these products to help our Volunteers and Partners document their important work and share it on our website.

Google
We are fortunate to have received a Google Grant in 2008. This grant provides us with daily credit within Google’s Adwords program, and therefore enables us to broaden our Internet audience every single day.

Microsoft
Microsoft’s generous Matching Grant program has enabled many Microsoft employees to double their helpful donations to our Partners!

Thrift Recycling
Thrift Recycling, a used-book collection and distribution company based in Seattle, generously donated a quarter-million children’s books to us in 2008! We then used our network to distribute these books to needy schools and libraries throughout India.

Roadmonkey
Roadmonkey Adventure Philanthropy combines first-rate geographic travel with meaningful volunteer work. Roadmonkey expeditions are physically challenging, intellectually stimulating and, by completing meaningful volunteer projects that help communities and people in need, deeply gratifying. With “planned serendipity” as a guiding principle, Roadmonkey is designed for explorers on a journey, not tourists on a schedule. Through its collaborative relationship with Omprakash, Roadmonkey works to direct volunteers and fundraisers towards projects within the Omprakash network.

Frontier Café
Frontier Café, Cinema, and Gallery, located in Brunswick, Maine, has grown from founder Michael Gilroy’s passion for connecting people with experiences that provoke a sense of discovery. Frontier is a destination where people can gather to enjoy and explore food, film and art inspired by the world beyond. We are pleased to share with Frontier the goal of helping bring their international experiences into their home communities, and we are grateful to Frontier for being a space where Omprakash volunteers and fundraisers can organize educational events and service-learning projects.

Newmark Learning
An educational publishing house based in New York, Newmark offers us free and discounted books when they become available. It is our pleasure to distribute these resources to our international Partners!

Orion Corporation
The Orion Corporation of Minnesota provides residential services and supports to people with disabilities. We are committed to sharing part of the wealth we create with the broader community. Toward that end, each year we make donations to organizations that add to the strength, richness, and diversity of our larger community. We are proud to contribute to the Omprakash Partners.
