Sahara Organization Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal

Sahara organization Nepal (SON) was established in 2009 by a group of people who have grown up in similar orphanages in Nepal and India. We (the directors) were and are being inspired by the divine job of the organizations which have brought us up to the level we have reached today. We can feel the humanity they have poured upon us and importantly the education we received being with them. In fact neither a word can convey the gratitude towards them. We have spent a big part of our own lives in these organizations and now we think it's our turn to follow the footprint laid down by our godparents to share love and compassion with those like us who appear to have no future. Hopefully this little attempt of being helpful for helpless children of Nepal could carry the gratitude message to those who have added vision to our eyes to read the world. Thus we seek to share the humanity we received with the destitute and abused orphan and similarly needy children; whom we find is the best place to live in or have no option but to be abandoned without a shelter. We prefer quality rather than quantity; we keep less children but more care and attention.

Mission Statement

Short term:

  • To create a stable living community for destitute children that provides the basic physical, mental and emotional needs through the establishment of a children's home.
  • Beside conflicts, we believe that another reason for children being on the streets is a lack of human awareness as well as disparity in rural and urban development. So our long term mission is to expand the social consciousness and expand the development of rural areas through different Training schemes, community enrichment and cultural immersion programs.
