We welcome volunteers year round. If you are interested specifically in agriculture, the best time of year to volunteer is December – May during the dry season.
We prefer long-term volunteers (4+ months), however, we will consider shorter stays for well qualified volunteers. The minimum stay would be 3 weeks.
We will also consider short term stays for groups – for example, a group might want to participate in labor intensive projects such as construction, or a group of teachers may want to host a teacher training workshop. We are open to ideas based on your skill sets.

The farm is currently growing cassava, eggplant, pepper, tomato, potato, rice and millet which is providing enough food to feed the students nutritious meals daily and generate income from the sale of surplus produce. These funds are being put towards ongoing operations for the farm and supplementing school fees for the students. We are currently looking to install drip irrigation to the farm to increase production. Okada Service: The Fountain of Mercy aquired a new motorcycle to run a motorcycle taxi business (okada). The funds generated from this business are being put towards school operations and teacher stipends. Teacher Training: Fountain of Mercy is looking to partner with local universities and secondary schools to provide training for their teachers in curriculum design and classroom management. Fountain of Mercy would like to have an international volunteer work with teachers in all subjects to improve their skills and training in these areas. Most of our teachers have little or no trainin in teaching methodologies.
