Asociacion CREAR
Playa Samara, Costa Rica
CREAR was founded in 2005 by an American teacher and members of Intercultura Language School staff. They shared a vision of enriching local children's lives, so they launched the non-profit educational arts organization, CREAR. In just seven years, CREAR has developed a strong reputation for creating new opportunities for the community and offering a safe and stimulating environment for over 200 children.
CREAR’s main programs include an after-school program, offering art and technology classes, and many more with wide-ranging topics to two local communities four days per week, a day camp during Costa Rica’s summer and winter seasons, and in-school assemblies and community presentations based on critical environmental issues.
CREAR shares information about our programs, updates, and events through our website, www.asociacioncrear.org ,and through our Facebook page. Andrea Keith, the Program Director, can be reached at andrea@asociacioncrear.org, and Johannah Waite, the Fundraising and Environmental Director, at johannah@asociacioncrear.org

Partner Needs
We are continually looking for resources to make high quality projects and experiences available to our students. Because of the high number of children in our program, we go through materials very quickly. Art materials, books in English and Spanish, sports equipment, and school supplies are always needed. Monetary resources help buy materials as well as maintain our permanent in-country staff and infrastructure.
We would love to collaborate with other organizations that serve similar populations. Especially utilizing a positive youth development frame work. We look forward to collaborating and sharing idea about fundraisering, community development project, growth for grassroot organizations, strengthing and expanding our program and much more.
