Leon, Nicaragua
Expense Summary
Below is a breakdown of how this partner has allocated funds received through the Omprakash Network.
$650.00 — January 14, 2010
Air-Conditioning Unit Purchased for Pathology Lab
The hospital's pathology department needs air-controlled facilities so that the hospital can run its pathology tests propoerly. Unfortunately, their air-conditioning unit broke approximately 6 months ago and the government has been too slow to fix it-- destroying the department's efficency and ability to process exams. This is a great first step in getting them back on track.
$450.00 — January 14, 2010
New Refrigeration Unit Purchased for Pathology Lab
The hospital's pathology lab only had a single refridgerator that was more than 30 years old and was therefore unreliable. The freezer portion of the refridgerator was also unable to achieve freezing-temperatures-- temperatures that are crucial to perserving differnet pathology samples. Having a reliable refridgerator that can achieve ice-cold temperatures enables the pathology to more accurately and more efficiently perform their examinations.
$167.00 — January 12, 2010
4 Adult and 4 Pediatric Blood Pressure Cuffs
Nicaragua was experiencing a large dengue outbreak and monitoring patients' blood pressures was one of the only ways to accurately diagnose this illness. Unfortunately, the hospital lacked blood pressure cuffs and therefore needed cuffs for each of its emergency room departments. With these cuffs, the hospital was able to more efficiently and accurately assess its patients' illnesses.
