For we at Richbone, this field of work is our passion. I know that its hard to make ends meet but the most important thing is that sharing is caring. Forget about how little the food is, how small the currency is, just lite a sharing candle and it will marvel you the kind of light you will bring into someones life.Last year, we organized a Christmas party at Old Ningo for an orphanage home; Chris Josh Dans home and as at now they still have this party running through their minds. That is what we are talking about here, IMPACT. We made them smile; we danced with them and made them a part of us. It was a great feeling and thats the kind of passion we talk about at Richbone Initiative Foundation. This year God willing, we want to organize a homecoming event for these kids coming Christmas. We are hoping to come together as one big family and have fun, share ideas, socialize and also get the network moving. You might never know who will help you 10 years from now. So the idea is to make this event big and invite about 5 orphanage homes to wine and dine with us. Celebrating Jesus means celebrating life so we do this annually but this will be our most outstanding one and as such in the entire country. We hope it goes well and we hope we make an orphan smile again.Funding in the amount of 4,000 to 5,000 is requested to enable us organize this joint Orphanage Party.AM SO RICHIt is important to groom our young and upcoming children into great future leaders. It is very important in this line of argument that, financial control, financial success and financial achievement are very important in the lives of every growing leader. Most often we hear corruption here and there, embezzlement of funds, lack of capital to start a business and a whole of financial related issues. This is so because at the grassroots, we were never thought about saving so we always lack, we were never thought about the negative effect of greediness so we always want more than what we have, we were never talked to about the principle of there is more blessing in giving than receiving At Richbone, we have realized that Charity begins at home but it also begins with an effective investment/ saving skills for our children. This is an educative program that will test the knowledge of our young and upcoming future leaders, put them to a series of tests, go through a competition and finally get winners. Winners will be awarded prices in monetary terms but this amount will be invested for that individual so that 10 years from now, if he or she wants to go into real estate business it will be possible, if he or she wants to take up a maters program it will be possible. The idea is to create an investment package as an award to participant and inculcate the habit of saving in the youth so that just like the ant, they will smile after the rains.DETAILS OF PROGRAMMEVISIONS OF THE ORPHANS (VOTO)VOTO, The future is oursVOTO, yes we can.It is an educational tour we are embarking on in orphanages (selected) to convey the message of the effects of street life in Ghana. This tour will also unearth talents amongst the children in the home, give them the opportunity to take up challenges and also give them hope for the future. We hope to make it an annual event and hope to get support from sponsors, the public and volunteers to help us carry this tour across the country. This is to pave way for us to carry out other educational activities across the country. What make RIF unique are our creativity level, hard work and dedication to this field of work. We also involve the children in our activities as well as donate and give them hope for a brighter future.OBJECTIVES OF VOTO To help improve the lives of children in the orphanage To add our voice to eradicate street life in Ghana To educate the children on the millennium development goals. PETERS ANGLICAN 1 PRIMARY SCHOOL COMMUNITY IN AMASAMAN DISTRICT OF GHANA.BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOLThe Ofankor St. Peters Anglican 1 Primary School was established by the Anglican Education Unit in the early 70s (1973).it was a primary school until 2000 a Junior Secondary was added. It is under the Ofankor circuit of Amasaman Municipal Assembly and a public school under the Ghana Education Service. The school runs the shift system as the numbers of students are more to occupy the classrooms and so some students come in the morning and others in the afternoon. The school has a population of about one thousand four hundred (1,400) pupils. Kindergarten (KG 1) to Junior High three (J.S.S 3).PROJECT SUMMARY:Education is a valuable asset everywhere in the world. In a developing country like Ghana, where 38% of the populations are below 15 years of age, it is even more important. School buildings in Ghana are mostly simple and functional, consisting of three class rooms in a one story building. The number of children in a class is 50 or more. Unfortunately many schools do not have enough class rooms to accommodate all children and those that have do not have enough teaching and learning facilities. This project is an initiative to construct a six block classrooms for the students and teachers of Ofankor St. Peters Anglican Junior High school I, whose class room building is about to fell or collapse due to heavy rain fall.PROJECT NEEDSRichbone Foundation is seeking funding to construct a six classroom block for students and teachers of Ofankor St. Peters Anglican 1 primary in the Amasaman District of Ghana. The school built fifty years ago with mud blocks has been in bad shape due to no maintenance, lack of funds from government or district assemblies to built a new one and also rain washing away the school building. The school children learn under fear conditions as the school could collapse any time. Teachers that are been posted to the schools also do not return back to teach since the school is in bad shape and do not want to risk their lifes. A great number of pupils stayed away from the school because of browned off building during heavy rain fall. The remaining building-built with mud walls without doors and windows, blocks dilapidated, population explosion, insufficient desks, overcrowded classrooms and inadequate learning materials characterize the entire system. It will be a great relief to parents and children if at least a new six classroom block is constructed to save them from eminent danger and allow them to study in a very conducive environment.PROJECT OBJECTIVESThe community library will serves as a resource for local students and teachers. Students will gain access to useful study material which might not be available at the schools.Having access to educational resources, students will improve their performances in school and compete favourably on national level exams.Local, national, and international news papers, bulletins, and magazines will made accessible in either electronic or paper formats. The community will become well informed because people will have access to a wealthy information resource.Entertainment and media materials will be made accessible to the community. This will be a resource for recreation and learning.Employment opportunities will be created for the local people.LONGER-TERM PLANS FOR THE PROJECTThe long term plan of the project is to contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) of achieving universal primary education by 2015 also The six classroom construction block will provide appropriate, adequate, desirable and acceptable learning environment for children to learn and will keep them in class any time the rain starts. The project will protect students and teachers from being worried in the future when ever its rains or there is a heavy storm.WHO WILL BENEFIT DIRECTLY FROM THE PROJECTThe direct beneficiaries of the project shall be children of school going age in Ofankor and its surrounding communities.Thousand four hundred students (1,400) between the ages of 2 and 15 years will be the main beneficiaries of the project. Other youth volunteers between the ages of 15 and 25 years including staff teachers of the school will be secondary beneficiaries of the project. Out of the thousand four hundred students, 780 are boys and 620 are girls. The total population of the community will also benefit from the projects as it school will be a safe place for their children learn at a good environment.Indirect BeneficiariesThis shall include:The Ghana Education Service (GES), Amasaman Municipal District.Amasaman District Assembly. The people of Amasaman, Ofankor, Pokuasi and its surrounding villages. The total cost of this project is $20,500.USD.$5.00 will help buy one mold block$12.00 will help buy a bag of cement$15.00 will help provides one blackboard$50.00 will help with a new roofing sheet$50.00 will help paints the school building$100.00 will help provide desks and chair for the students$250.00 will Helps buy building materials $200.00 will Helps buy computers and reading materialsOTHERSOther donation and small projects such as building school urinal, and providing certain facilities like food items, books, and computers costing from $200 to $1000 will also be part of our projects and we hope to receive funding to implement all this projects.
