TSAVO
voi, Kenya
Tsavo volunteers is a community based organization with the aim of helping to raise the standard of education to the communities that are very poor in Kenya as well as conserve wildlife areas that are close to communities.
Now we are working in Maasai community land a place where wildbeast migration is experienced alot or in other words a corridor for wildlbeast migration.
Maasai community dont take their kids to school and instead their kids go herding cattle in the wild. A large number of girls in this communities are married very young in the exchange of cattle to their parents.
Circumcission is the order of the day and this is because they lack education. I t is true their culture is very unic and this have made people around the globe to visit them and see how they live.
We are making dailogue with parents to see the impotance of education and help their kids to have better future.
Another we have is wildlife conservation in the Tsavo Ecosystem. In this region poaching wildlife is so rampart and almost 30 wildlife animals loose their lives per day due to poaching. And because of this Tsavo volunteers helps the under staffed rangers in wiping out this menace.
Tsavo volunteers also go wildlife clubs to school to empower the kids who are the future generation on the importance of wildlife in the society and how to protect them in the eco-system.
We also have environmental conservation program. This program helps the community to observe cleaning their homes, communities, schools and cities. Tsavo is developing methodologies on reaching the schools by developing bronchures or sujects that will enhance the efforts of good and healthy environment.
Tree planting is also the major agenda of Tsavo. With the global warming effects it is very vital for people to engage in tree palnting and also to save our remaining forests. So we are working with the communities to realize the importance of trees.
