Project Profile
The Development and Education Programme for Daughters and Communities (www.depdc.org) combats the trafficking of women and young girls by offering them free education. Located in Mae Sai, Thailand the school is open to children of the local community, whose parents don’t have the money to send them to governmental schools. DEPDC also offers free full time housing to children who are at high risk of entering trafficking or child labor.
Volunteer duties can include anything from teaching classes or showing visitors around to becoming a part of the administrative staff, including fund raising and reporting, or creating your own activities for the children. Also you can use your professional skills to teach the children and the staff. Volunteering at DEPDC is an opportunity to help underprivileged children and learn about the work DEPDC does to combat the trafficking of women and children.
