Project Profilevolunteer in ladakh

Health-Inc. (www.health-inc.org) works with local residents of Ladakh (Jammu & Kashmir province, northern India) to bring better nutrition, healthcare, and education to the region. The organization’s accomplishments include designing and publishing curricular materials in the Ladakhi and Urdu languages, training teachers who work in government schools, researching effective pedagogical methods, and developing educational models that can be used by NGO’s around the world. The Omprakash Foundation is helping volunteer in ladakhHealth-Inc. find volunteers, gain publicity, publish its educational materials, and further develop its pilot programs. We have also begun posting some of Health-Inc.’s books on our website so that other educational projects can view or download them for their own purposes. Partnership History

Health-Inc. has been an Omprakash partner since October, 2007.
-In December, 2007, Omprakash donated $900 to help Health-Inc. bring electricity to one of its pilot schools in Domkhar Dho.

Need for Volunteers

Health-Inc. is always in need of qualified volunteers who can commit themselves to teaching and/or helping with administrative tasks in the organization’s office in Leh or in any of the villages where it operates.
