English Classes on Wednesdays! print storyOctober 30, 2012 Asociacion CREAR, Costa Rica
CREAR is happy to announce the beginning of their weekday English Program. Thanks to the help of their new volunteer English Teacher, Kat, CREAR will be offering English classes on Wednesdays from 10:30am to 11:30am (location Intercultura) and 12:00pm to 1:00pm (location Salon Comunal) in Samara and 1:30pm-2:30pm (location Salon Comunal) in El Torito. CREAR is also excited to welcome Kat to our team. Here is a little background information on the newest member of CREAR! Kat was born and raised in California. In 2007 she graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara where she studied Anthropology and History. While attending university Kat co-directed a student organization dedicated to promoting diversity, awareness, social justice, and sustainable living in the local community. As part of her work she founded tutoring and developmental programs with the elementary school and assisted in developing a semi-annual community festival that continues to this day. In 2011 Kat decided to pursue her passion for teaching and volunteering with youth and made the move to Costa Rica to earn her TEFL certificate. She is currently teaching at Intercultura Language School and Mareas Homeschool in Samara, Costa Rica and is passionate about creating a sustainable English program for local children. When she is not in the classroom Kat enjoys reading, swimming, exploring the Spanish language, and walking the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica. Comments |
