THE BRILLIANT CHILDREN AT CHILDLINE UGANDA print story

July 19, 2012

Childline Uganda, Uganda
NAMIRIMU MADINAH

On 14th(last saturday)  Emmanuel, John and i  participted in  today for tomorrow programmme with the children. it was so nice. the children are intelligent and have different tallents. this time  the children arrived early and the program began at 9:00m. Emmanuel was the conductor as John and I translated from luganda to help childen fully understand.

In the 1st  session, we began with a prayer and then there was bible reading. we taught from1st corinthians(12:14). Jesca one of the chilren read the chapters in English as i interpreted in Luganda. We put children in a pair, each child  had to ask a partner and drew or wrote down what they love most, their best colour  and their best sport respctively. After this whole session we learnt that, although we have different  talents, needs and interests, we are all important to one another and need each other, for example you may be good at fine art when am good at mathematics, thus i need you to teach me fine art just like you need me to teach you mathemtics so we all need one another.

In the 2nd session, we put papers on the wall, and each paper included a child's name respectively. Afterwards we asked each child to stand where  they saw their names at the wall,we set some kenyan gospel music since they had to dance before doing any drawing.

They first drew a car, after we turned on the music since they had to rotate while dancing and when we paused  the music, children drew different  pictures on those papers on the wall where the music caught them. it continued like that until that sesssion ended.

In the 3rd session, we showd them a cartoon movie which had message that human beings are diffrent in character, behavior and different interests however we all need each others help, care and apprecition among others to surviveand that that is what makes us similar and equal.

Duringthis session, the children watched part one of the movie as they ate  pineapple( they will watch part 2 next saturday).

In the last session, went to the feild to do some sports. as usual i played netball with the girls then John,Emmanul and Marc played with the boys,oh these girls challenged me ! until i gave up. after that we went back to the office and relaxed, then Emmnuel ended the program with the prayers.
