Our Project (Part 3): Parents
by Jon Leposky
April 07, 2011
If you are a student in high school or even someone who relies on their parents, the first step is to get you and your parents on the same page. If not, ignore this story. As to how to deal with things between you and your parents is impossible for me to advise on, but I can provide you with some tips that would have helped me.Realize that parents don't think the same way you do. Although an area may be safer than the States on paper, that may not be evidence enough to your parents. Convincing your parents to allow you to do something like this could take a long time of easing into it.Secondly, when you go to your parents, have a plan. If my group was not as...
Our Project (Part 2): Just Do It
by Jon Leposky

Our Project (Part 1): Purpose
Expand Peru, by Jon Leposky
October 10, 2010
The purpose of these stories is to tell about how myself, and two other students planned, organized, and implemented a trip to Peru in order to aid three Omprakash Partners through video documentation. In these stories, I want to provide a model for other students and volunteers who wish to do something similar. I hope that through these stories, you can learn from both what we did right and what we did wrong. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me through the Omprakash site. I would be more than happy to talk to you about anything relating to my involvement with Omprakash.I'm going to break the process of the project down into multiple stories starting with this one, adding another story every so often until our story is...
While in Peru
Expand Peru, by Jon Leposky
June 03, 2010
This is my first blog, and it is durring my stay in Peru. I am only going to talk about certain things now because I am keeping my full blog offline until I get back and I can have the appropriate time to edit.I am currently in Peru with Chiara, Alex, and Vance. We have thus far hit two of the organizations we plan to cover during our stay. So far the trip has been a lot of fun and for me personally has gone pretty well. I know as a group there has been some minor issues but nothing important. I find more humor out of them than dispair so don't worry. Right now we are covering Pisco Sin Fronteras and are almost finished. We have captured some pretty harsh...
