One month ago, I came home. Or, to put it more precisely, I substituted a newly acquired home with my old one. I can vividly remembering sitting nervously in my host family’s living room, waiting for my host mother to come home from work. This was to be our first moment of contact, and I started to worry about stupid things: Did I bring too many bags? Did I bring a sufficient gift? Do I look presentable? Hello,I'm leaving for Kenya in two weeks, to go work at Kibera Girls Soccer Academy for three months, until the end of summer. I cannot even express just how excited I am to go. I just received a Flip video camera to bring over there, and I'm hoping to video the girls, so that we can upload some videos on here, and on their school's blog. As great as it is to hear about all their stories, I think it'll be incredible to show their stories too- the moving image is very powerful.I believe that we can all be empowered with a video camera- and that it's a great way to show each other how we live and who we are. It would be absolutely incredible, if one day, classrooms...
