Tomorrow I will be heading back to India for the 3rd time this year to continue working with two Omprakash partners, Deep Jyoti and LHA.

I don't think I have ever been this excited to go to India. The soup kitchen we are building for Tibetan refugees is almost complete. We are just waiting for the water filter to arrive. Then we can start serving meals to the refugee community. When I get there, I will be able to help by serving meals. In addition to this, I will be spending my time by finalizing our nutrition curriculum. My good friend Joe will be coming with me and will be making some great media content for LHA as well. So stay tuned for that!

Things are also moving nicely at Deep Jyoti. There are three main objectives with our trip there. First we hope to get the toilet construction up and off the ground. We are building 2 toilets. The second goal is to start a mid day meal program and sack gardening program. We hope to teach kids and their families about sustainable farming practices so that they can grow food for themselves and alleviate their issues of food insecurity. The mid day meal program will start out modest; rice and lentils. But we hope that it will grow slowly. We want to start something and gauge community responsiveness and then move forward from there. Finally, Joe will be helping out by interviewing local community members and the director and making a short documentary about life in Bihar.

Like I said, I can't wait to be on the ground. The next 7 weeks are going to be extremely exciting!
