October 13 I've been in Honduras a little over a week but it already feels like I've been here forever. I guess Honduras seems to have that effect on people. It's surprisingly very easy to get use to your life here and the slow paced rhythm of it all. Which is something I enjoy so much about my time in Honduras, it's not rushed like my life in American where I'm running to get to work to get home or to do about everything. In Honduras people take their time to do everything and being has really taught me to just enjoy the ride. Even though sometimes it makes me want to pull my hair out!!! It's been wonderful seeing so many familiar faces ready to welcome me back into their lives. People who come to volunteer always hope to make a difference and touch people and seeing all these kids who remembered me and were excited to see me was a testament to the fact that I effected them the same way they effected me. Honduras Is just as beautiful and green as I remember but some things are really different too. My friend and the Honduran director of PEP, Iris finally opened up her bilingual kinder, which has been a dream of hers for forever! I got to check it out a couple of times and it's just beautiful! The kids are well behaved and are actually learning English. Something else that's different from my last time here is that there’s a completely DIFFERENT group of volunteers. Which was weird getting use to as first but all the volunteers this year are great! Overall it's been exciting to familiarize myself with Honduras and fall in love with the country over again!
