Fundraising and Donating through Omprakash

For many people, donating money to a foreign project is intimidating: transparency and accountability are limited, and the donor receives no formal recognition of his or her contribution. At Omprakash, we hope to offer an alternative: by acting as a bridge between diverse educational projects and the many other communities that can respond to their needs, we give our donors a chance to support foreign projects without sacrificing the security of donating to a registered 501(c)3 American charity. All donations to the Omprakash Foundation can be earmarked, and all donations are tax deductible for American citizens.  One-hundred percent of all earmarked donations will go towards the causes for which they are earmarked– Omprakash does not “charge” donors for using its network.

As our network continues to expand, we hope that our website can be a valuable resource for individuals seeking to support foreign social projects from afar. Whether you have just returned from volunteering abroad or you have never left your home country, you can use our database to learn about the needs of different projects, and then you can fundraise on their behalf.  Learn more about Fundraising through Omprakash>>

Individuals fundraising under the Omprakash umbrella can use our site to help teach people about the causes they can support, and can use our tax-deductible status as extra incentive and reassurance for potential donors. By representing the material needs of different educational projects on our website, we hope to help build relationships between these projects and all of the different individuals and communities that are capable of helping them.

To learn about all of the different needs of the projects involved in the Omprakash network, please visit the Our Partners page.  Below, please see an abbreviated list of projects that can use your support.
